もともと、SnapVolumesという名前で、2012年はじめにデモを見せて頂いたと時の印象は結構よくできているなという感じでした。
やれることは、仮想ディスクにアプリケーションセット(OfficeやAdobeなど)を入れておいて、それを複数の仮想マシンから共有するというモノです。 拡張子とアプリケーションの紐付けはオンラインで、ユーザに気づかせることなく柔軟なアプリケーションの配置が可能です。 どこが買収するのか、VMware? Citrix?

 例：myfile.pdfというファイルがあり、アイコンは白い(pdfビューワが入っていない、拡張子の紐付けがされていない)状態だったとして、 Cloud Volumes側でAdobe Readerの入った仮想ディスクをOSにポコッとマウントするとユーザはすぐにpdfが開けるという感じですね。
